In the 100 pages of Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie, that I have read, it has been all about the ADVENTURES!!! When young Wendy, Michael, and John meet Peter Pan, they all decide to fly. Peter Pan takes them to Never land( with a little help from fairy dust) and they begin their adventures. When Wendy is flying Tinkerbell decides to play a big trick and tells the lost boys to shoot at the Wendy bird. They do but the "kiss" or acorn that Peter gave her saves her life! If it isn't an adventure like hanging with mermaids at the lagoon, or being redskin Indians, then it's not any adventure like the ones found in Never land! This book has adventures that will keep you on the edge of your seat. With a little bit of action and drama Peter Pan is brought to life!

This 182 paged Newbery Honor, is about India Opal finding a dog at the food store Winn-Dixie. It includes Opal, Winn-Dixie, Miss Franny the librarian, Gloria Dump, and Otis. When Opal feels lonely about her mother leaving her when she was still small, everything changes when she finds Winn-Dixie. His humorous smile and constant wagging tail is just what little Opal needed. She meets another few friends along the way too. Like Miss Franny the librarian who tells stories, and Otis the pet store worker who sings and plays his guitar to the animals. Then, there is Gloria Dump, who according to the Dunlap boys is a witch, but turns out to be a kind older lady ending up to be one of Opals best friends. It is a great story about knowing that you don't need to have relatives to have family, just true friends and a great dog!

Boy of the Painted Cave

The main characters in Boy, by Justin Denzel, include a 14 year old boy named Tao, the trusty Ram, wise Graybeard, and the leader Volt. In this 158 paged story, young Tao loves to paint and draw but it is against the rules of his clan, or taboo. Tao meets a man named, Graybeard, who helps Tao become a cave painter.

The conflict in Boy started from Tao's dream. His dream is to become a cave painter, but can not. If he paints and he is not the chosen one, he is committing taboo. Tao doesn't really care that he could be deathly punished for the painting or the drawing. His heart was set on cave painting, so he didn't let anyone stop him. No matter what happened, Tao kept believing in himself. That is the main conflict in Boy.

Indigo Blue

215 pages of Indigo Blue by Cathy Cassidy, is about as good as you can get when it comes to books. It's about a girl named, Indigo, who lived with her mum, Misty(her sister), and Max. (Indigo's mum's boyfriend.) Along with her later on neighbors Mrs. Green, Ian, and her mum's best friend, Jane. Life's not good when Indigo's mum is always tired, crying, or bruised because of her boyfriend, Max. Indigo's moved to a basement flat, she's getting rumors spread about her home, and worst of all, they're being spread by her old best friend! Indigo's life isn't very smooth, but when a lot of help from some friends and family comes, she's back on track with being Indigo Blue!

Scarlett

Scarlett, by Cathy Cassidy, is 261 pages of colorful excitement and drama. It is about young Scarlett, a 12 year old girl who lives with her mom in London. After being kicked out of her 6th school in 2 years, her mom can't handle it. Off Scarlett goes, but this time in Ireland! Scarlett's mom sends her off to go live with her father, the same man that left them both and changed Scarlett's life. She wasn't always getting into trouble. Scarlett used to be a good student, very well- behaved. After being left though, she changed dramatically. Scarlett began skipping school, being rude and defiant, and dyed her hair the color of ketchup. Once Scarlett settles in at Ireland and everything seems just about right, everything goes wrong. Scarlett goes through some extremely rough times, but in the end, she ends up with a family and a life lesson that changed her from being a snooty little girl, into the daughter of a family she can hang onto forever. Whether it's Scarlett getting her tongue pierced, or sneaking out at night with her friend Kian that nobody knows about, she always has something that will make your eyes pop out of your head. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a story that you won't want to put down as soon as you pick it up!

Bud Not Buddy Blog

BUD, NOT BUDDY

In this 236 paged book, Bud, not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis, a 10 year old boy goes son a search for his father. The boy, Bud looks for his father and finds his grandfather, Herman E. Calloway! The problem is Bud wants to find his father who left his mom and him. Bud's mother passed away four years ago when he was six. Bud remembers his mother getting mad when looking at a couple of flyers that he has with him. The man playing the cello on the flyer is who Bud thinks his father is. Later in the story, Bud finds the man in the flyer, Herman, thinking HE is his father, but finds out then that Herman's his grandfather. Bud, not Buddy's main conflict would be Character vs. Character because Mr. Lefty gets in his way.
Mister Lefty Lewis is who causes the main conflict to be Character vs. Character. When Bud is traveling to Grand Rapids, a man named Lefty Lewis picks him up and takes him back to Flint where Bud just left. Bud lies and says he ran away from Grand Rapids so Mr. Lefty would want to take him back to what he thinks is Bud's home. WHen in Grand Rapids, Bud finds Herman E. Calloway. The moral of the book would be, family is very important even if they live in a different town or even in Heaven. Family will always be with you on the inside. I would personaly reccomend this book for anyone ready to go on a journey in Bud, not Buddy!
