The Princess Academy by Shannon Hale, is 314 pages about 14 year old Miri. When soldiers come to her territory, Mount Eskel, she finds that she will be attending the Princess Academy, to learn how to be a princess. When she gets there, she finds nothing but cold, harsh ridiculous rules, competition, and homesickness. Miri has a strong gut, and she uses that to help her in every possible way while competing to become the Academy Princess.
